Babar Ahmad with students from MSc War and Psychiatry, Kings College London, 04 December 2018

Earlier today, with students from the Kings College London MSc War and Psychiatry class.

I was invited by Kings College staff to address the students about coping with the traumas of war, torture and isolation.

A student asked me why I don’t carry any hatred or anger towards my tormentors. I replied,

“Throughout my experiences there were people who did wrong to me but there were also people who were good to me.”

“I have chosen to focus my energies on appreciating those who were good to me instead of lamenting about those who were bad to me.”

“I haven’t forgiven the evil ones, but I am not shackled to them either. I have left them to God so I am free of them.”

Read my story here.

I am available to address university students from time to time but London only at present and only as part of curriculum lectures. Get in touch if interested.
